Tetralogy of Fallot


The tetralogy of Fallot results from the asymmetric division of the AP septum. The result is a stenosed pulmonary artery and a VSD.

The VSD arises from the deviation of the AP septum from the midline. The aorta thus overrides the VSD, allowing a left-right shunt of blood. The tetralogy is thus comprised of the following four defects:
