Placenta Previa

The blastocyst should implant in the posterior wall of the uterus. There is however a possibility that the blastocyst will implant near the internal os (opening) of the uterus. The placenta will then develop here, covering the os. At delivery time, the placenta previa may detach prematurely due to its location near the cervix, causing hemorrhage.
