"The Beginning"
- Introduction
The MVS was originally conceived of by Dr. Bruce Pennycook, Faculty of Music, McGill
University. Dr. Leon Glass, Department of Physiology, McGill University has been involved in
the Molson Medical Informatics Project since its inception in January of 1997
and has had substantial advisory input on the McGill Virtual Stethoscope Project
(MVS).

Sounds received from Littman, some descriptions thereof are copyright 3M, reproduced with permission.
- Student involvement
Themis Katsianos (McGill Faculty of Music) who digitized the current Littmann/3M based
sounds, and developed the first Internet based version of the MVS and initial
video taping.
- Spectra production
Dr. Eric Incerti, Faculty of Music, McGill University
provided spectrographic analysis software
- Resources
Computer and sound processing resources provided by the Electronic Music Studio, Faculty
of Music, McGill University, as well as the Molson Medical Informatics Project's purchase
of four new PC's and One Power Macintosh, digital filtering software, portable
digital audio tape machine, video camera/VCR with Miro DC-10 digitizing card,
and various other supplies.
